Educating Denton County residents about safe, effective and sustainable horticultural practices that promote development of healthy gardens, landscapes and communities.
Native Plant Society of Texas
Promoting research, conservation and utilization of native plants and plant habitats of Texas through education, outreach and example.
Their core purpose is to inspire, educate and outfit people for a lifetime of outdoor adventure and stewardship. Their Stewardship Priorities are to: Encourage the active conservation of nature; Inspire the responsible use and enjoyment of the outdoors; Enhance the natural world and our communities through responsible business practices; Foster opportunities to increase participation in human-powered outdoor recreation; Maintain REI as an employer of choice, where employees are highly engaged in the vision of the company and are representative of our communities, researching, recognizing and celebrating historic trees.
A partnership to manage non-native invasive plants and pests in Texas. The partnership includes state and federal agencies, conservation organizations, green industry, academia and other private and public stakeholders who share in the common goal of protecting Texas from the threat of invasive species.
Texas Stream Team
A network of trained volunteers and supportive partners working together to gather information about the natural resources of Texas and to ensure the information is available to all Texans. Established in 1991, Texas Stream Team is administered through a cooperative partnership between Texas State University, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Currently, over 1,400 Texas Stream Team volunteers collect water quality data on lakes, rivers, streams, wetlands, bays, bayous, and estuaries in Texas.
Trophy Club Parks & Recreation
Preserving and enhancing the residents exceptional quality of life through the planning, maintaining and landscaping of parks, common areas and median which helps ensure a healthy, picturesque and environmentally sound community; and, to engage the citizenry by offering a variety of recreational and athletic opportunities and special events that combine to create an environment that fosters both community spirit and pride.
